Anchorage Wetzel Residence, Laminate Flooring (2010)

My main task while working in Anchorage was to knock out 1700 sq.ft. of laminate flooring.  I'm proud to say that that mission was accomplished.  My cousin Demian play a huge role by helping me out 3 days after I started.  Once he was on board and we got our method down we were able to crank out a lot of sq. ft. per day.

Anchorage Wetzel Residence, Deck (2010)

While working in Anchorage Alaska my main task was to complete the laminate flooring but since it was completed ahead of schedule and the weather was so nice, we were able to start and complete the deck.  The deck is accessed from the kitchen and a stair case located behind the house.  The image below shows the rough framing.

Here is the completed deck.  Well I should say almost since the stair case still needs balusters and some clean up is needed.

Even though it was anticipated, We were amazed on how high the elevation was after constructing it.  Needless to say, I was very proud of our accomplishment.

 Recycled Cardboard Tube Chair (2003)

I designed and built this chair during my last semester at Kent State.  The cardboard plotter role tubes were recycled from a New York City architecture firm I interned with the summer prior.  The frame is made of welded steel rods.

Custom Media Unit (2008)

We had some spatial issues in our 2008 apartment so a custom design for our TV and equipment was necessary.  The unit wraps around the brick wall that is extended out.  This allowed the deeper equipment to be pushed back therefore making a shallower footprint.  It also forced the 3 forms to be shifted which created some interesting asymmetrical groupings.

Platform Bed (2004)

This was one of my first personal projects when I moved to Brooklyn.
